Dear Chris -
Thanks so much for your note.  Most of the information I have on the descendants of Newton Sigel Rorabaugh came from one source (which I can't seem to find at the time... I just know that it was a computerized listing of his descendants, and came from a Deborah Rorabaugh, no current e-mail address however.)  Some of the information is different, but your information is very helpful.

Earl Dean's grandmother was Mary Ellen Clark.  It seems obvious to me that's where his father took the name from, even though it was an alias as you said.  Newton Sigel Rorabaugh was my grandmother's brother...just about three years older than she.  They were the youngest children of a large family.  I remember Grandma referring to her brother as "Sig".  Other than that, I had no knowledge of him.

Again thanks for the information, especially since Earl was a step-father to you, if I understood correctly.  I have added your mother's correct name to my database.

If I can find my notes as to the source of the other information I received on Newton Sigel Rorabaugh's descendants, I'll forward your note to them.  If you don't mind, I'd like to post your note on my website for other Rorabaughs who might come across it.
Please let me know if you object.

Thanks, again!

Dear James,
I found your site by direction of my step-sister, Audrey Celeste Clark who was the daughter of Earl Dean Clark, son of Newton Sigel Rorabaugh.  Earl was born in Grand Island, Oregon although his death certificate states Dayton, Oregon.  He was married three times, however his third wife was Verla Arlin or Arlene (both spellings were used) Denney, my mother.  He died December 8, 1980 in Auburn, King Co., WA and is buried in Woodlawn Abbey Cemetery, Auburn, WA.  Earl was born a Clark, last name used at time of his birth and placed on his birth certificate although his father was legally a Rorabaugh the story goes he was using a alias at the time of Earl's birth.  Earl had several brothers and maybe sisters, Claude, Ernie, James and Samuel.  I do know that his father remarried and had some other children as was present when in Dec. of 1963 when Earl called after many years and discovered his father had died several months before.  Earl had three children during his marriage to Evlyn June Snyder (deceased), Aaron, Adriane and Audrey.  All of whom were born in Portland and are living. Aaron has at least one daughter and his sisters do not have any children. Their mother Evlyn Snyder did remarry and her husband pre-deceased her and she is not longer living, date unknown.  She died in Portland Oregon.  Earl's brother Claude, married Pia (unknown) and had two sons, Claude and Victor.  Victor married Diane (unknown) and had a son James, born apx. 1973.  Claude Jr. also married and had a son.

Thanks, Chris
